Who this is for

Three ways into the same destination.

Whether you already have a nursing degree or you're starting from scratch, there's a route. Germany's labour shortage is so deep that you can switch careers, or simply finish your nursing studies, and still land a ₹3-lakh salary on the other side.

The full journey

Six steps from Trivandrum to your first German payslip.

No agency hand-offs. No "contact the next vendor". One team owns the entire 12-month path, including the parts most consultancies outsource or skip.

1

6-month German training in Trivandrum

Months 1-6

Daily classes at Cokonet Academy, Ulloor Junction. Native and TELC-certified faculty take you from A1 to B2 with a ₹30,000 monthly stipend during the training. Mock exams, healthcare-specific vocabulary, and pronunciation labs included.

2

TELC B2 certification exam

Month 6

TELC B2 is the language threshold Germany legally requires for nursing recognition. We book the exam, prepare you for all four modules (reading, listening, writing, speaking), and most students clear on the first attempt.

3

Recognition application (Anerkennung)

Months 7-9

We translate, notarise and submit your nursing transcripts to the relevant German state authority. Most Kerala BSc Nursing degrees get full or partial recognition, which puts you on the same pay band as a German-trained nurse from day one.

4

Employer interview and contract

Month 9-10

We coordinate video interviews with our hospital network (university hospitals, private chains, and care homes). Most students sign 2-3 offers before choosing. You read the contract in German, by then, you can.

5

Visa filing and relocation prep

Month 10-11

Work visa filing (much faster than student visa once you have a contract), insurance, accommodation, banking setup, SIM card, and an in-person pre-departure briefing covering everything from German tax classes to the U-Bahn.

6

You land, you start, you earn

Month 12 onwards

Airport pickup by our German-side coordinator. First-week settling support. You start clinical work, draw your first €4,000+ salary, and become eligible to bring your spouse and children on a family reunion visa after six months.

The salary, in detail

Family reunion

Your spouse joins you in six months. They can work too.

Germany's family reunion visa lets your spouse and children join you six months after you start work. The spouse visa includes the right to work, full healthcare for the family, and free public schooling for children. This is the part most Kerala families don't believe is real until they see the offer letter.

Spouse work rights , Full work permit on arrival. No employer sponsorship needed.
Free public schooling , Children get free education through 12th grade, English-medium options widely available in big cities.
Full family healthcare , Statutory health insurance covers the entire family at no extra cost.
Permanent residence in 3 years , Eligible for German PR after 33 months. Citizenship eligible after 5 years.
30 paid leave days a year , Plus 9-13 public holidays. Five-day work week. Overtime paid extra.

Anerkennung, the recognition process

The paperwork most agencies fumble. We don't.

Anerkennung is the German government's process for recognising your nursing qualification. It decides whether you start on the full nurse pay band, or on the lower assistant band. Most rejections happen because of bad documentation, not bad credentials.

📋

What Cokonet handles

  • Document gathering, attestation, and apostille
  • Certified German translation of all transcripts
  • Filing with the right German state authority (it varies by where you'll work)
  • Adaptation course coordination if partial recognition is granted
  • Follow-up correspondence in German with the authority
  • Appeal handling if a deficit notice arrives

What you handle

  • Show up to the recognition adaptation course (if needed)
  • Attend your B2 German classes regularly
  • Sign documents we prepare, on time
  • Stay reachable on WhatsApp during the 9-month window
Bottom line: we handle the bureaucracy in German. You focus on learning the language and showing up to class.
Employer network

Hospitals you'll interview with.

Direct relationships with university hospitals, private chains, and specialised care groups across Germany. You sign with the employer, not a labour broker. That matters at contract time.

Cost and financing

No surprises. Everything itemised.

Frequently asked

Questions Kerala nurses actually ask us.

I have a GNM, not a BSc. Will Germany accept me? +
Yes. GNM holders are typically granted partial recognition and complete a 6-to-12-month adaptation course in Germany while already drawing a near-full salary. Several of our placed candidates are GNM holders now earning €3,200+ as recognised nurses.
What if I fail the B2 exam? +
Re-attempts are scheduled monthly. Cokonet covers your first re-attempt fee. Most students clear on the first try because our trainers know the TELC B2 format exactly. Failure rate among our cohort is under 8%.
Can my husband come along with me? +
After 6 months on a German work contract, you can sponsor a family reunion visa for your spouse and children. Spouse gets full work rights on arrival.
How long is the bond with the employer? +
Typical contracts are 24-36 months for the initial period. After that, you can switch employers freely within Germany. Most stay because the second-employer offers are usually better.
What if my family situation changes mid-process? +
You can pause the journey at any step before the recognition filing. Refund policy varies by stage and is spelled out in the engagement letter. We do not lock you in.
Why Cokonet over the bigger agencies? +
Most "agencies" are recruitment commission middlemen for German labour brokers. Cokonet runs its own German language school in Trivandrum (Cokonet Academy, 16 years old), so the language training is in-house, the recognition team is in-house, and the placement is direct-to-hospital. No four-way handoff, no commission stacking.
