Why this track

Three reasons it pays off internationally.

💵
Highest pay

Top 3 entry-level tech salaries

Cloud engineers consistently rank in the top 3 entry-level tech salaries globally. Entry salaries beat most senior data analyst roles. The work is heavy on logical problem-solving, light on customer-facing communication.

🏠
Remote-friendly

Most work is remote

Cloud and DevOps work is largely platform-based. Once you have access to AWS/Azure consoles, you can work from anywhere. Cloud roles have the highest remote-work rate of any tech field.

🛡️
Recession-proof

Less affected by hiring freezes

When companies cut software engineers, they almost never cut cloud and DevOps. Reason: cloud infrastructure is operational - if it stops, the business stops. Most stable tech career through 2020-2024 layoffs.

FAQ

Common questions Kerala students ask.

AWS or Azure, which is more important?+
Both. In 2026, AWS still leads globally by market share (about 32%) but Azure dominates enterprise Europe (especially Germany, UK financial services, healthcare). Multi-cloud is the norm; knowing both makes you 30-50% more hireable.
Do I need a CS degree?+
Helpful but not required. Our cloud cohort is 50% non-CS backgrounds (mechanical engineering, electronics, mathematics, even commerce graduates with strong logic). What matters more: comfort with command-line tools and willingness to break things and debug them.
Are AWS and Azure certifications worth it?+
Yes, especially for first-job applicants. Recruiters use certifications as a filter when they have hundreds of candidates. AWS Solutions Architect Associate + Azure AZ-104 together is a strong baseline. Senior roles care less about certs, but early-career roles definitely do.
Is on-call rotation hard?+
Manageable. Most cloud and DevOps roles have a 1-week-in-4 on-call rotation, paid as overtime. You get paged for production issues. Modern alerting systems mean most weeks pass without incidents.
Will Kubernetes still matter in 2030?+
Yes. Kubernetes has become the de-facto orchestration standard. Even if a newer abstraction emerges, the underlying concepts (containers, scheduling, networking) remain. Career-safe skill for the next 7-10 years minimum.
