How our consultancy actually works, what we promise, what we don't promise, refund and cancellation policy, and dispute resolution. Written so you can read it once and remember it, not so we can hide things in it.

The full terms

In short

We help Kerala students apply to universities abroad. We charge a consultancy when you decide to use our paid service. We don't guarantee a visa or admission, because no consultancy can. If we fail to deliver what we agreed in writing, you get a refund. The full terms below cover the specifics.

1. Who's offering this service

Cokonet Overseas Pvt Ltd, an Indian company registered in Kerala. Registered office: Peedikayil Chambers, Ulloor Junction, Thiruvananthapuram 695011. Branch office: VSRA-59, Vennala, Ernakulam 682028.

2. What this site is and isn't

This site is an information and lead-generation portal for Cokonet Overseas's consultancys. Filling in a form here does not create a binding contract. We become contractually bound to deliver consultancys only after both parties sign our written engagement agreement, which spells out the destinations, university shortlist, fee, payment schedule, and deliverables for your specific case.

All content on this site (cost ranges, visa timelines, settlement pathways, university partnerships) is illustrative based on common cases as of the publication date. Specific outcomes depend on your individual profile, current immigration rules, and university decisions outside our control.

3. The consultancy

Our consultancy typically includes: senior counsellor consultation, university shortlist with admission probability assessment, application drafting (SOP, LOR coordination, documents), application submission and follow-up, visa application support, pre-departure briefing, and 90 days of post-arrival support.

Specific deliverables for your case are defined in your individual engagement agreement. If something isn't in writing in your agreement, we haven't agreed to do it.

4. What we don't and can't guarantee

No legitimate consultancy can guarantee these, and any consultancy that says they can is misleading you:

  • Admission to any specific university, admission decisions are made by the university, not by us
  • Visa approval, visa decisions are made by the destination country's immigration authority
  • Specific salary outcomes, labour markets change, employer decisions vary
  • Immigration rule stability, visa rules, post-study work durations, and PR pathways can change

What we do guarantee: deliverables we list in your engagement agreement, within the timelines we commit to. If we fail to deliver, refund terms apply.

5. Fees and payment

Cokonet Overseas does not charge a consultancy service for university admissions. Counselling, university shortlisting, application drafting, SOP review, visa filing guidance, and pre-departure support are included free with your placement.

You pay only the following directly to third parties: university tuition fees, visa fees (paid to the consulate), language exam fees (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc.), blocked account deposits or financial guarantee instruments, flights, insurance, and accommodation. We never handle or process these payments on your behalf.

For optional add-on services, fees are quoted in writing before any work begins. Standalone visa filing service: ₹18,000-₹35,000 depending on country complexity. Language training packages: as published on each language coaching page.

6. Cooling-off period and refunds

You have 14 days from signing the engagement agreement to cancel for any reason and receive a full refund of payments made, provided no university applications have been submitted and no third-party fees (translations, attestations) have been incurred on your behalf.

After 14 days, refund eligibility depends on which milestones we've reached. The engagement agreement defines the milestone schedule and refund slabs. As a general principle: if we haven't delivered a milestone, you get the corresponding refund slab back.

Visa refusal cases: we offer one free re-application at the same university or one switch to a comparable destination at no additional Cokonet fee. Government fees are not refundable.

7. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about your academic history, work experience, finances, and family situation
  • Respond to our communications within reasonable timeframes (university deadlines are not flexible)
  • Attend mandatory interviews and appointments (APS, visa biometrics) yourself - we cannot represent you at these
  • Pay government fees directly and on time
  • Inform us promptly if your circumstances change (family, financial, academic)

Providing false information voids the engagement agreement and forfeits refund eligibility.

8. Intellectual property

All content on this site (text, design, code, images, branding) is owned by Cokonet Overseas Pvt Ltd or licensed to us. You may not copy, redistribute, or use it commercially without written permission. The downloadable Parents Handbook PDF is licensed for personal use only.

9. Disputes

If you have a complaint, email [email protected] first. Our Grievance Officer responds within 7 working days. If unresolved, we move to mediation under the Indian Mediation Act 2023 at Thiruvananthapuram.

If mediation fails, disputes will be settled in the courts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Governing law is Indian law.

10. Force majeure

Events outside our reasonable control (pandemic-related visa suspensions, embassy closures, war, natural disasters, severe immigration rule changes) may delay or prevent service delivery. In such cases, we suspend the timeline, communicate transparently, and offer either a refund or a service rollover to your preferred future intake.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. For active clients, any change requires your written consent before it applies to your engagement. For website visitors, changes take effect 30 days after being posted with a notice on the homepage.
